Dr. Lisa Harrenstien, DVM, DACZM is a Board Certified Specialist in Zoological Medicine® and is also a Fear Free Avian Certified Professional.
Dr. Harrenstien joined East Padden in summer 2025, adding bird, reptile and amphibian care, as well as additional small mammal care, to the expertise that has already been at East Padden for decades. Dr. Harrenstien uses her extensive background in small animal/exotics medicine, university exotics practice, zoological pathology, and zoo practice (including 13 years at the Oregon Zoo) to provide specialist level care for avian and exotic species. Dr. Harrenstien is a Board Certified Specialist in Zoological Medicine®, with Diplomate status in the American College of Zoological Medicine (ACZM). The ACZM is a specialty organization related to the care of avian/exotic companion animals, as well as free-ranging wildlife and animals in zoological facilities. Dr. Harrenstien is the only private-practice ACZM Diplomate in the Pacific Northwest.
